Student surgical assistants needed for biomedical research

The Center for Transformative Research in Metabolism is seeking three undergraduate students to assist a veterinary technician with surgical procedures.

The positions, based at UAF, offer training in TRiM's biomedical research and surgical procedures. The center's veterinary technician will supervise the students.

Prerequisites include an interest in biomedical research, attention to detail and dependability. Courses in biology and/or chemistry are preferred.

The position pays $10.50/hour for a maximum of 20 hours/week or 10-20 hours/week with flexibility.

Student surgical assistants will gain useful skills in biomedical research and knowledge of laboratory animals that will improve resumes and training in biomedical research.
