Tall Timbers lecture series begins June 13

The University of Alaska Fairbanks will launch the Tall Timbers interview series on June 13, highlighting deeply rooted members of the Fairbanks community. 

The eight-week series is presented by UAF Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning. Veteran journalist Robert Hannon will lead the discussions, which will be at 7 p.m. Mondays at the BP Design Theater, located on the fourth floor of UAF’s Engineering Learning and Innovation Facility.

June 13 — The Rev. Anna Frank, Episcopal Church deacon 

June 20 — Jim Sampson, former Fairbanks North Star Borough mayor

June 27 — Mary Shields, musher and adventurer

July 11 — Bishop Otis McCormick, community service leader

July 18 — Matt Atkinson, tourism leader

July 25 — Shirley Gordon, hostess and longtime Alaskan

Aug. 1 — June Rogers, community arts leader

Aug. 8 — Mary Nordale, prominent attorney
