Teaching Tip: Addressing discrimination in learning environments
Whether virtual, in person or somewhere in between, we expect most students to engage in some kind of discourse with instructors and other students. Unfortunately, miscommunication, implicit bias and discrimination can enter these spaces. To facilitate student success, instructors can become more aware of their own implicit bias and learn how to address discrimination to promote relative safety.
