50 Years of Toolik Research

A group of five scientists established Toolik Lake as a research site in 1975.

2025 marks our 50th year as a research site! Join us as we celebrate half a century of Toolik research at the events listed below.

Come join the fun at UAF's Arctic Research Open House. Stop by the Toolik table in the Murie Building Lobby to take a virtual tour of the station and grab Toolik swag.

We're hosting a Visitor's Day on June 6, 2025. All are invited to the station to tour our facilities and nearby field sites. Learn about our current work and take a self-guided natural history hike.

More information will be shared in May about tour times, travel and camping suggestions, and a link to reserve your lunch spot.
We're organizing a First Friday at Black Spruce Brewing, celebrating art inspired by the sights, sounds, and science at Toolik Field Station.
