BIO

Henry Toal is a research engineer working with the ACEP Solar Technologies Program. 

Toal started his work with ACEP as an undergraduate student in 2019. He completed his Master’s thesis in mechanical engineering in partnership with ACEP, which involved using a network of solar irradiance sensors distributed around a solar array to detect cloud movements and forecast solar power production. 

He has also worked on a variety of other projects including remote data collection and analysis for islanded community powerhouses in rural Alaska, automating solar resource data storage and quality control, as well as solar viability assessments for a variety of locations across the state.
