BIO

Vanessa Raymond is adjunct faculty at ACEP. She was formerly a program manager of ACEP's data team, with a specialty in supporting technical teams to design, build and expand software that manages or visualizes Arctic environmental data.

She came to ACEP from the Inuit Circumpolar Council (ICC) Alaska, where she designed and built an information management system for ICC’s 50+ years of Inuit advocacy as their Data Advisor & Archivist. Prior to that, she was a project, product and data manager at Axiom Data Science, Resource Data Inc, the NSF Arctic Data Center, and the Geographic Information Network of Alaska.

In addition to her work in Arctic data and technology, Raymond is a returned Peace Corps Volunteer (Bulgaria, 2009-2012) and an entrepreneur. She holds an M.A. in Arctic governance from UAF with a specialty in Arctic security issues and a B.A. in jazz and cultural studies from Hampshire College.
