BIO
As a storyteller at ACEP, Yuri Bult-Ito shares ACEP news through the ACEP Newsletter that she leads, researches and writes stories and press releases, co-leads editorial efforts for ACEP’s blog, From the Grid, works on website content and designs, takes photographs and edits ACEP materials.
Having served UAF for nearly two decades, she joined the ACEP team, bringing with her many years of extensive experience as a science writer, editor, graphic designer, translator and photographer. Prior to coming to Alaska, she served on the faculty at several major universities in the Lower 48 as a linguist. Having worked in both academia and staff worlds, she has developed a unique perspective, understanding and appreciation for a variety of employee groups, their ideas, views, approaches and goals. She takes pleasure in diversity whether in food, environment or people, and in trying new things.
Out of the many places she has lived, she finds Fairbanks to be the best place, especially the quiet and the beautiful sky, no matter the weather. She is competitive with moose and rabbits in her enthusiasm for vegetables, is an avid lover of classical music, and enjoys running, walking, yoga, experimenting in the kitchen, doing volunteer work in the community, reading detective novels, and spending time with family, both human and feline.
