ACEP’s Brendan Babb Presenter at Anchorage Science Pub

Brendan was the presenter for the Anchorage Science Pub hosted at Tap Root Café, in Anchorage on August 10, 2014.  Brendan’s previous work through the University of Alaska Anchorage included working with NASA to improve the compression of the Mars Rover images prior to transmission back to earth.  Even small improvements in image compression increase the number of images that can be sent back.  Brendan and his team developed an algorithm to increase the compression by five percent, a huge success.
