Improving Mars Rover Image Compression using Genetic Algorithms
Improving Mars Rover Image Compression using Genetic Algorithms
Join ACEP on February 6th at 12pm to 1pm in Duckering Room 531 for a presentation
by Brendan Babb on his work with the Mars Rover.
During his presentation Brendan will cover his use of evolutionary computation, biomimicry,
and open data to improve the technology on the Mars Rover image compression system.
He will also demonstrate how he used Nutonian’s free academic license software, Eureqa,
to evolve mathematical models using symbolic regression.
As a brown bag lunch presentation, attendees are asked to bring their own lunches
for the talk but bringing food to share is always welcome.
Brendan J Babb is currently filing a patent on image compression at UAA.
