Flywheel Testing Update: The Flywheel has Arrived at the ETF

On July 25th ACEP’s Energy Technology Facility (ETF) accepted the delivery of the anticipated Williams flywheel. Hatch Engineering is working with Williams to develop this technology for possible application in Alaska’s villages, and ACEP’s ETF can emulate a typical village making it the perfect place to demonstrate the new technology.

Soon the flywheel will be assembled and anchored to its heavy duty foundation.  Once the Hatch engineers arrive in early September, testing will begin.  Before that time however, there is still much work to be done to prepare for the testing, and the ACEP Power Systems Integration team is hard at it.
