Marc Mueller-Stoffels to Speak on Microgrid Integration at UAF Research Showcase Seminar
Integrating Renewable Energy into the Diesel Microgrids of Rural Alaska

As part of the UAF Research Showcase seminar series organized by the Undergraduate
Research and Scholarly Activity Program (URSA), Dr. Marc Mueller-Stoffels will present
his work regarding the integration of renewable energy into small grid systems, March
5th.
Marc will provide an overview of ACEP’s Power Systems Integration Program while covering
the basics of renewable energy integration in diesel-powered microgrids. He will
also discuss his current study for the City of Nome on integrating 2 MW of geothermal
power from Pilgrim Hot Springs with the city’s wind-diesel power system, and highlight
URSA’s involvement with ACEP through the UAF Resource Assessment and Feasibility Study.
