The North Slope Export Gasline: Myths, Truths, and Dreams

Community Energy Lecture Series
Tuesday, May 20th, 2014
6pm to 7:30pm

Location:  Blue Loon (2999 Parks Highway)

Speaker:  Antony Scott
Senior Economist and Energy Analyst
Alaska Center for Energy and Power

Will an export pipeline provide cheap gas for Alaska? Will it solve the state’s budget woes? What are benefits and risks associated with state project ownership? If a pipeline hasn’t happened does that mean that it’s not economically viable?  If it’s Alaska’s gas, why can’t we just make them build it?

Join ACEP’s Antony Scott in a discussion of these and other gas export pipeline topics. Antony is an energy economist, and worked to advance state’s interests in gas commercialization under four State administrations.  He has working knowledge of many of the complications and realities associated with what would be the history’s largest private investment.
