Tanana River Test Site Weekly Update

Tanana River Test Site Weekly Update

The Tanana River Test Site, managed by the Alaska Hydrokinetic Energy Research Center (AHERC) has seen significant changes in recent weeks in preparation for a very busy testing season.  Most recently, the Nenana Native Village Council was contracted to clear trees and brush at the site.  The Nenana Village Corporation will then level the lot and complete gravel work that must take place before ATCO office units can be transported to and placed at the site.

Additionally Jack Schmid, an AHERC Research Engineer, recently made a presentation to the Nenana Native Village Council on AHERC’s efforts at the site.  Jack described what work has taken place at the site so far this season and covered what else is planned for the site this summer.
