ACEP to Meet with Members of Mary’s Igloo Native Corporation

ACEP’s Director Gwen Holdmann will travel to Nome at the end of this week to meet with the Mary’s Igloo Native Corporation (MINC) members.  While there, Gwen plans to speak to members of the corporation about flow testing results of the large diameter well drilled at Pilgrim Hot Springs in the fall of 2013.  Gwen plans on using large photos of the area to show MINC members what a possible new community site would look like located adjacent to Pilgrim’s new useable hot water resource.

Many MINC members now make their home in Teller after the community was moved.  Some hope to move back to the original location of the Village of Mary’s Igloo now that the hot water resource at Pilgrim has been shown to be capable of supporting small scale power generation and space heating potential.  Photo courtesy of www.city-data.com.
