Rocket Stove Workshop offered by Cooperative Extension Service
October 31st (5:30pm – 9pm) or
November 1st (9:30am to 1pm)
Harper Building, UAF
Rocket stoves are an efficient and clean biomass burning alternative. They have combustion chambers that better allow the mixing of wood gasses and oxygen in insulated chambers which concentrate the fire on the tip of the wood. The result is a more efficient burn with less wood for the same amount of heat and less emissions. They are great for cooking and heating in cabin, workshop and camp situations.
Join the UAF Cooperative Extension on Friday, October 31st or Saturday, November 1st at the Harper Building to hear a presentation on “Efficient Wood Care and Handling” by Glen Holt (Eastern Alaska Forester) and build your own can rocket stove. All materials will be provided. Each participant will also receive a pre-made steal rocket stove as well as a “do-it-yourself” wood burn box.
The cost of this workshop is $35 per person. To register visit https://epay.alaska.edu/C21563_ustores/web/store_cat.jsp?STOREID=2&CATID=22
