ACEP Director Gwen Holdmann Participates in “Week of the Arctic”

The Week of the Arctic is a series of meetings attended by policy and technical experts to examine issues such as increased maritime traffic, international attention, and new opportunities for development in the Arctic. The weeklong event serves as a platform for leaders to experience the Arctic and to learn about local perspectives and priorities from the residents who live and work there.

Meetings will be taking place:

Monday – Tuesday, October 6 and 7, in Nome
Wednesday – Thursday, October 8 and 9, in Kotzebue
Friday – Saturday, October 10 and 11, in Barrow

For the Nome portion of the event, ACEP’s Director Gwen Holdmann will be on hand to participate.

Event is organized by the Institute of the North, the University of Alaska Fairbanks, and the Arctic Economic Development Summit.
