ACEP Director to Testify Before House Energy Committee and Attend Innovation Summit
ACEP Director Gwen Holdmann will travel to Juneau this week to testify before the Alaska House of Representatives Energy Committee. While there, she will also be attending the Annual Innovation Summit hosted by the Juneau Economic Development Council.
As part of the presentation sessions of the Summit, Research Professor George Roe will be discussing two topics from recent research at ACEP - "Global Market Opportunities for Alaska Microgrid Capabilities?" and "Assessing Options for Direct Use of Hot Springs Geothermal Energy." ACEP will also be collaborating with UAF's Cooperative Extension Service to host a community energy information-sharing event on the evening of January 28 at the Juneau Arts and Humanities Center. George will present space-heating highlights from the 2014 hot springs direct use effort co-funded by the Alaska Energy Authority and the Aleutian Pribilof Islands Association. Art Nash of the Cooperative Extension service will also be present reviewing energy systems for remote homes and remote camps.
