BlackBox Project Update
Researcher Jeremy VanderMeer has recently completed building a signal transmitter for the BlackBox that will allow the device to collect uninterrupted, high frequency data from powerhouses where it will be installed in the future. The signal transmitter is designed to receive current or voltage signals from sensors and isolate them (with optional gain and offset) before transmitting them to the analog inputs of the BlackBox computer. It had to be fabricated by Jeremy because no other transmitter available had adequate isolation, frequency and resolution specs to meet the project’s goal parameters.
