Deputy Director of ACEP at Washington DC Deposition
Brent Sheets, Deputy Director of ACEP, testified before the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee on May 19, 2015. Senator Lisa Murkowski, Committee Chairman, stressed the importance of developing Alaska’s diverse energy resources, from fossil fuels to renewables. Brent spoke about the value of learning from the investments the Alaska state government, its communities, and its local utilities have made in finding solutions to provide reliable and affordable energy for its citizens—lessons that the rest of the nation can learn from as it moves to adopt microgrid technology. His written testimony touched upon geothermal, hydrokinetic and biomass resources, as well as methane hydrates.
After his testimony Brent was prompted to answer a few questions from Senator Lisa Murkowski. The exchange was filmed and is available on YouTube. Follow this link to view the video.
