Engineering Open House
The University of Alaska Fairbanks College of Engineering and Mines hosted a full slate of free, family-friendly events last Saturday during its annual Engineering Open House at the Duckering Building on campus.
Activities and demonstrations included 3-D printing, an electric hot dog cooker, student rocket and satellite project, making mud milkshakes, and innovative robotics. ACEP also took place in the event teaching children how to make their own wind turbines and the value of wind power with a demonstration using a wind tunnel.
The open house event took place in conjunction with National Engineers Week, which is an annual event that was created to increase public awareness and appreciation of engineers and their work. It was sponsored by the UAF College of Engineering and Mines.
