An Hour with an Expert:  Everything you ever wanted to know about Renewable Energy in Alaska

Our speakers will present a brief overview of the utilities they operate in remote Alaska communities, and discuss the challenges of integrating renewables into a community’s utility system. They will also discuss projects they have in development, including flywheel electrical energy storage, distributed fast-acting thermal loads, and Community Energy Baseline.

Graduate and undergraduate students and faculty interested in energy, high contribution renewables, sustainable community planning, project financing, State energy regulatory and legislative issues should attend. We will also discuss possible summer internships and potential employment after graduation.
