ETF Battery Expansion

ETF Battery Expansion

As part of upcoming “diesel-off” research conducted by ACEP’s Power Systems Integration (PSI) team, the Energy Technology Facility’s (ETF) current battery bank is being expanded. The painstaking work is increasing the size of the valve regulated lead-acid battery system from 336 VDC to 540 VDC. Once the expansion is completed the battery bank will be joined with a 320 kVA PCS100 inverter developed by ABB and will allow the PSI team to refine technology and develop control strategies to operate a microgrid in “diesel-off” mode.
