Arctic Renewable Energy Summit in Iqaluit
September 15th to 17th, 2016
Iqaluit, Nunavut

ACEP’s Director Gwen Holdmann recently returned from a summit organized by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) in Northeastern Canada. Called the Arctic Renewable Energy Summit, the goal of the event was to discuss ways of reducing Arctic Canadian communities’ reliance on fossil fuels (diesel) for economic and environmental reasons. The summit attracted Canadian government representatives and community leaders from the area as well as several energy, policy, and utility experts from other areas, such as Alaska and Siberia. Gwen was invited to attend the summit to provide her expertise in Arctic renewable energy solutions and policy to the discussion.
