New 3-ton Crane Boosts ACEPs Capabilities

ACEP has increased their capabilities with the addition of a 3-ton gantry crane. Located in the hydrokinetics bay of the Energy Technology Facility the crane will allow the ACEP team to perform many heavy lifting jobs in house.

 In the coming months, the crane will aid in the assembly of ocean moorings for the new Beaufort Sea Long Term Ecological Research (LTER) site, a Yakutat Wave Energy Converter Impact Assessment, and a Wave and Sediment study in Stefansson Sound.

 Additionally, the new crane will allow for turbine installation, engine work and many other new and exciting projects.
