ACEP Co-Sponsors Clean Power Happy Hour
Alaskans face some of the highest utility bills in the nation and rely heavily on
heating systems to keep warm in the long winter months. Improving efficiency in construction,
heating, and electricity can keep costs down for ratepayers and reduce the amount
of energy Alaskans are using per capita.
On June 15th, The Alaska Center with co-sponsors: ACEP, Renewable Energy Alaska Project (REAP), and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) host the Clean Power Happy Hour at 49th State Brewing Company in Anchorage at 6pm.
The Clean Power Happy Hour is a series of forums on renewable energy and energy efficiency topics in Alaska.
If you plan to attend, arrive with a copy of your utility bill to learn about the
financing opportunities for energy efficiency upgrades and how you can save money
on residential and commercial utility bills.
The forum will include energy experts speaking about energy efficiency financing programs
and resources available to Alaskans.
Guest speaker, Amy Mays, will share her personal story of rising out of energy poverty
with the installation of solar on her home.
Free appetizers for participants will be available, and will be drinks for purchase.
Bring your utility bill to the event to compare your usage and costs to the averages
in Alaska.
