“Brains On!” is a weekly podcast produced by Minnesota Public Radio and co-hosted by kid scientists. The latest installment, which looks at energy distribution and how it gets power into homes, was co-hosted by ACEP Director Gwen Holdmann and her 9-year-old son, Leif.

 The segment features Gwen and Leif (starting at 28:40) explaining the challenges they face generating their own electricity from the wind and sun, with a diesel generator for backup, at their home just outside Fairbanks.
