National Bioenergy Day Celebrated by Biomass Public Meeting Tomorrow

The 5th annual National Bioenergy Day (NBD), on October 18th, is a day to celebrate biomass as an energy. Participating organizations across the country will open their doors to their communities to demonstrate the many benefits that biomass provides at the local level.

ACEP, the Fairbanks North Star Borough, Fairbanks Economic Development Corporation, and the Alaska Wood Energy Development Task Group are celebrating a day early, hosting a Biomass Public Meeting on October 17th, 2017.

The meeting will focus on the results of a Pre-feasibility study awarded by the Alaska Wood Energy Development Task Group (AWEDTG) to study the biomass energy potential in four Fairbanks North Star Borough Schools.

The schools included in the study were: Pearl Creek, Two Rivers, Weller, and Salcha.

This event is open to the public, and will be held at the Murie Auditorium on UAF’s West Ridge on October 17th, 5:30 pm.
