Week of the Arctic – ACEP Supports Innovate Arctic Program at North by North
As the US Chairmanship of the Arctic Council draws to a close, the Arctic Council Host Committee and UAF host Week of the Arctic from May 8 -14, 2017. Week of the Arctic features North by North events in Anchorage, and Arctic Interchange events in Fairbanks. The events include ministerial meetings, forums, and public seminars. This week also serves as the transition of passing the Chairmanship from the US to Finland, who will lead for the next two years.
As part of the Week of the Arctic events, ACEP Director Gwen Holdmann will be among the North by North speakers at the Anchorage Museum on May 12th, presenting “How the Energy System of the Future is Being Pioneered in Alaska”. Join Gwen and others there to explore how Alaska's energy innovation ecosystem is solving energy problems first in Alaska, and then abroad.
In association with the Innovate Arctic theme at North by North, Gwen and ACEP Research Professor George Roe will be joining the Launch Alaska team and a group of investors, entrepreneurs, technologists, researchers, members of the military and policy specialists for a day of conversation and engagement brainstorming about supporting entrepreneurism in Alaska during a day long round trip train ride to Seward. Friends of ACEP interested in this topic are encouraged to join them – for additional details and to purchase tickets click here.
