ACEP Director and ARENA Members Travel to Arctic Energy Summit in Finland
ACEP Director Gwen Holdmann, Research Professor George Roe, and three 2017 Arctic Remote Energy Networks Academy (ARENA) participants will travel this week to the 2017 Arctic Energy Summit (AES) in Helsinki, Finland.
Holdmann will present on Renewable Energy Development in Alaska during a session titled Renewable Energy Policy Addressing Climate, Environment and Affordability session on Monday, September 18th, 2017.
Three ARENA participants will present in an AES side event on their community projects and their participation in ARENA program.
Participants Kate Ballegooyen (Burwash Landing, Canada), Tyler Kornelis (Kodiak, Alaska, and Keith Charlie (Minto, Alaska) were selected to represent ARENA during the AES.
ARENA and AES are both endorsed projects of the Arctic Council's Sustainable Development Working Group co-led by Finland, Iceland, Russia and Gwich'in Council International.
