ACEP Director and Postdoctoral Fellow Present at Renewable Energy Symposium
ACEP Director, Gwen Holdmann, and Postdoctoral Fellow, Dominique Pride, traveled to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Canada to attend the Renewable Energy in Remote and Indigenous Communities Symposium on September 5th. The symposium was hosted by the University of Saskatchewan and SaskPolytech.
Holdmann spoke on a panel titled, Indigenous and Remote Communities: Success Stories from Alaska. She was accompanied on the panel by fellow Alaskans Meera Kohler, CEO of Alaska Village Electric Cooperative and Ethan Schutt, Senior Vice-President Land and Energy Development for Cook Inlet Region Incorporated.
The following day Holdmann and Pride participated in the Renewable Energy in Remote and Indigenous Communities workshop attended by government, industry, and community stakeholders with the goal of addressing the various technical challenges associated with the development of renewable energy technologies in micro-grid communities.
