ACEP Joins Partners in $6.2M EERE/OE RADIANCE GMLC Award

ACEP was named among a list of DOE National Laboratories, Alaska utilities, and university partners to be funded under a 3-year $6.2 million U.S. Department of Energy’s Grid Modernization program award.

The project titled Resilient Alaskan Distribution System Improvements using Automation, Network Analysis, Control, and Energy Storage (RADIANCE), will enhance the resilience methods for distribution grids under harsh weather, cyber-threats, and dynamic grid conditions using multiple networked microgrids, energy storage, and early-stage grid technologies.

RADIANCE is led by a consortium of National Laboratories including Idaho National Laboratory, Sandia National Laboratory, and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.  University partners include UAF’s Alaska Center for Energy and Power, Washington State, Florida State, and New Mexico State, and Alaska utility partners include Cordova Electric Cooperative and Alaska Village Electric Cooperative (AVEC).
