Initial PuMA Data Collected from Remote Deployment Site
Mechanical Engineering students Alana Vilagi and Baxter Bond visited the community of Tanana to collect in data from their first two installed Pump Monitoring Apparatus (PuMA) devices. These first two devices were installed as a field test of remote deployment prior to further installations in the community.
The PuMA is a non-invasive meter used to monitor the heating fuel consumption of Toyo or Monitor stoves. In addition to installing more meters in the community this October, they plan to upgrade these devices to transmit data collected remotely to ACEP’s server.
