Islanded Power System Issues Similar in Alaska to Pacific Island Nations

AHERC Director Jeremy Kasper just returned from Rottnest Island, Australia where he presented on ACEP research, programs and capabilities at the 2017 Islanded Power Systems Connect meeting.

Despite the climatic differences, many of the lessons learned working in Alaska and around the Arctic apply to the island nations represented at this year's IPS Connect Meeting. Utility operators, engineers and researchers from Australia and the broader South Pacific were well represented at the meeting. The next IPS Connect meeting is planned for Hawaii on October 15-19th, 2018.
