Solar Manual Available Free Online

The ACEP solar technologies program has teamed with the UAF Cooperative Extension Service to publish the fifth edition of "A Solar Design Manual for Alaska." The new edition includes a significantly expanded solar photovoltaic section.

The guide includes information on solar PV design, components, current standards and codes, solar PV economics and financing, solar heating technologies, passive solar heating, and active solar water heating, as well as solar power in agricultural settings. It introduces readers to a variety of tools that can be used to plan a system and estimate approximate output. The update received support from experts around the state, and 14 stakeholders contributed content and suggestions to the newest edition.

The manual can be downloaded for free at the ACEP website or from the CES website. Hard copies will be available soon for $15 and may be ordered by calling (877) 520-5211.
