Chilean Visit Promotes Collaboration with UAF

ACEP Director Gwen Holdmann traveled to Punta Arenas, Chile, last week to pursue opportunities for collaboration between ACEP and Chilean research organizations and project developers.

The trip was funded by Corporación de Fomento de la Producción de Chile, a Chilean government organization that promotes economic growth in Chile. Alakaluf, the local renewable energy development company, hosted the event.

Chile has 1,500 off-grid sites, mostly centered on industrial and agricultural enterprises.

In addition, Holdmann met with leadership at the University of Magallanes to execute a collaborative master agreement between UAF and UMAG. Doug Johnson, a member of ACEP's Advisory Committee, also participated in the visit.
