Videos Showcase Biomass and Greenhouse Systems in Southeast Alaska

Two videos produced by ACEP’s Amanda Byrd feature biomass-heated greenhouse systems installed in six Southeast Island School District schools.

“An Edible Classroom” features school students, teachers and a superintendent sharing their experiences with the biomass-heated greenhouses.

In March, a cordwood boiler training workshop was held in Coffman Cove, Alaska. Thirteen boiler operators graduated from the workshop, and a video showcases the workshop.

“An Edible Classroom” has been chosen as an official selection for the 2018 Thaw Out Film Festival hosted by the UAF Film Club on April 22, 2018.
