ACEP Graduate Student Presents to American Society of Civil Engineers

Graduate research assistant Nathan Green will present on his master’s thesis to the Fairbanks chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers at the Westmark Hotel on Feb. 21.

Green, a master’s student in electrical engineering, will discuss designing a microgrid powered by an organic Rankine cycle generator using a low-temperature geothermal resource. Green will speak about challenges in implementing microgrids in general, in addition to challenges specific to ORC units. The Office of Naval Research funded his work.
