PNNL Researchers Visit UAF/ACEP for Energy Management Project Meeting

Pacific Northwest National Lab researchers Ron Melton, Tom McDermott and Craig Allwardt visited UAF and ACEP this week. They discussed progress and integration strategies for an energy management and optimization application being developed at UAF for an open-source advanced distribution management platform, GridAPPS-D, under development at PNNL.

The Resiliency Application for Fault Tolerant Energy Systems is being developed at UAF for renewable energy and energy storage management and optimization in remote islanded microgrids. The work is funded by a U.S. Department of Energy Grid Modernization Laboratory Consortium grant through PNNL. The PNNL researchers also toured the Power Systems Integration Laboratory at the Energy Technology Facility during their visit.
