Congratulations to Winners of Alaska Microgrids Competition
The Alaska Center for Microgrid Technologies Commercialization has announced the winners of the second round of the Microgrid Technologies Competition for companies with emerging microgrid technologies.
The ACMTC comprises the Alaska Center for Energy and Power, the Alaska Small Business Development Center, and the Center for Economic Development.
The competition encouraged project applications for either a Technology Seed Award or a Grand Prize microgrid project.
Oklo Inc. received the seed award, and Intergrid LLC won the microgrid prize.
Competition winners receive technical consultation (up to 125 hours for the seed awardee) or lab integration and testing (up to 40 lab days for the microgrid prize winner) to assist with moving their technologies to market.
All applications were carefully reviewed, and selection of the finalists was based on recommendations from an independent advisory team's review of the application packages drawing on their expertise in technology, utilities and finance.
Thanks to all of the applicants, and congratulations to those selected for the awards. The ACMTC is funded by a U.S. Economic Development Administration i6 Challenge grant, an Office of Naval Research grant and the State of Alaska through appropriations to the University of Alaska.
