ACEP at DOE Innovation XLab Energy Storage Innovation Summit

ACEP's George Roe attended the U.S. Department of Energy’s Innovation XLab Energy Storage Summit held Sept. 18-19 at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory in Palo Alto, California.

The event profiled energy research and technology transition initiatives across the Department of Energy’s national lab system, providing broad awareness of the emerging capabilities, opportunities and challenges, and the opportunity for in-depth discussions with the associated researchers.

Multiple presentations profiled fascinating case studies — some recently completed, some ongoing — regarding utilities, research labs, industry and communities working on resilience-enhancing grid segmentation and asset distribution, and utility management of distributed behind-the-meter power sources, energy storage and controllable loads.
