ACEP Electrical Engineering Student Presented on Organic Rankine Cycle
ACEP electrical engineering graduate student Nathan Green gave a presentation on his thesis work this week.
Green spoke to the local chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers in the West Gold Room of the Westmark Hotel in Fairbanks.
Attendees included representatives from the Alaska Department of Transportation, local engineering firms, UAF facilities, and civil engineering students and professors. Green discussed challenges in implementing organic Rankine cycle generators using low-temperature geothermal hot springs as a heat source. He also spoke about techniques used to model and simulate the process for powering a microgrid.
