Alaska Power Association Members Tour ETF

The 67th Alaska Power Association annual meeting was held in Fairbanks and around 20 APA members took the opportunity to tour ACEP’s Energy Technology Facility.

The tour, led by ETF manager David Light, showcased the current and future work being conducted in the lab including the fault emulator that is designed to provide 1:1 data sets to gain an understanding of the impacts of faults on grid inertia. This is a need identified by ACEP and utility partners and will help to accurately represent transient dynamics in a grid.

If you would like to arrange your own tour of the lab, please contact Heike Merkel at  (970) 718-2817 or hmerkel@alaska.edu.
