ACEP Celebrates 10 Years!
A lot has changed in 10 years, and ACEP has much to celebrate!
Gwen Holdmann, ACEP founder and director, launched the organization in 2008 with no in-hand resources beyond a compelling vision and a resolute commitment to its pursuit. ACEP has grown from its initial staff of three to a team of 30 researchers, both staff and faculty. They are working to mature a suite of microgrid energy technologies (hydrokinetic, solar, wind, biomass, storage) in collaboration with utilities, communities, industries, and state and federal agencies.
We are grateful for the opportunity to work in such a meaningful field with these marvelous colleagues, and look forward to the next 10 years, with the sincere hope that our research can help shape the energy systems of the future in Alaska and beyond.
