Energy Considerations for Materials, Manufacturing, and Processes in Alaska

Energy Considerations for Materials, Manufacturing, and Processes in Alaska

Advanced, energy-efficient technologies for Alaska materials, manufacturing and process industries will be explored during a workshop on March 21 at the University of Alaska Anchorage.

ACEP is working with UAA’s Business Enterprise Institute to coordinate the event. During the event, Alaska manufacturing industry stakeholders (process developers, materials developers/processors, software developers, systems designers, etc.) will meet with representatives from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Advanced Manufacturing Office and three DOE national laboratories.

The workshop will review manufacturing-relevant technologies being developed at DOE and opportunities for Alaska entities to leverage resources at the DOE national laboratories as part of their efforts to strengthen, diversify and grow the state’s value-adding economic sectors. Focus areas for the discussions include: novel energy systems; manufacture of high-value, low-footprint materials; digitally driven manufacturing; converting waste to chemicals; and software development. All are examples of desired areas of interest. Interested? Contact George Roe for more details.
