Huang Attends the Wind for Schools Annual Summit

This week, ACEP faculty Daisy Huang will attend the Wind for Schools annual summit at the National Renewable Energy Lab in Golden, Colorado.

Wind for Schools is a national program administered by NREL and the U.S. Department of Energy. As part of the program, seven 3.7-kilowatt Skystream turbines were installed at schools in Alaska. The turbines are connected to grids and can offset a portion of the schools’ electricity bills.

Teacher training and hands-on curricula are implemented at each K-12 host school to bring wind energy into the classroom experience through interactive and interschool research tasks, engaging young people interested in science.
