Marsik and Holdmann Present at Arctic Circle

Arctic Circle, the largest international gathering on Arctic issues, was held last week in Reykjavik, Iceland. The event convenes more than 2,000 participants from 60 countries to discuss all topics related to life, business, education, research and industry in the Arctic.

This year, Tom Marsik, who holds a joint position with ACEP and the Cold Climate Housing Research Center, presented remotely from Fairbanks in the Renewable Energy for the Arctic track in a presentation titled “A Low Carbon Arctic Energy System? Challenges, Opportunities and Trends.”

ACEP Director Gwen Holdmann traveled to Iceland to present in the Renewable Energy Hybrid Power Generation Solutions For Remote Arctic Communities panel, and the Small Scale and Sustainable Energy in the North panel.

Other UAF speakers included Nettie LaBelle Hamer, Larry Hinzman and Hajo Eiken.
