Wood Energy Conference Brings Together International Biomass Leaders

Wood Energy Conference Brings Together International Biomass Leaders

For the first time, the Alaska-Yukon Wood Energy Conference was organized by an international committee.

The conference, which begins today at the Wedgewood Resort, brings together biomass leaders from Canada and Alaska to discuss the common hurdles and solutions for biomass energy development in the regions.

Sessions will cover a wide variety of topics. Hear about why Burwash Landing, which has one of the oldest biomass installations in the Yukon, returned to a chip-fired boiler for its district heat system. Learn about innovative and efficient greenhouse designs for a cold climate based on lessons learned from the Yukon and rural Alaska, including ideas gleaned from a school district greenhouse program.

Registration on the day is still available, and evening events include a reception at the Fountainhead Antique Auto Museum.
