Registration open for IEEE 1547-2018 Alaska Workshop

In early September, engineers developing standards applicable to renewable energy integration will offer a workshop in Alaska through the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. 

Register here for the IEEE-1547-2018 workshop on Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 4-5, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. daily at the Alaska Communications Business Technology Center in Anchorage. 

The registration fee is $50 for IEEE members, and $75 for non-IEEE members. 

The institute developed the IEEE 1547 standards in 2003, and a lot has changed since then. The high penetration of solar energy distributed generation in California and Hawaii demanded changes in how interconnects need to interact with the electric power systems, so IEEE 1547-2018 was revised to accommodate the new requirements.
