Rob Bensin Joins the ACEP Team
ACEP welcomes Rob Bensin to the team. Originally from Long Island, New York, he came to Alaska for adventure and travel, and he stayed when he was employed by Bering Straits Development Co. to work in Nome as an electrical administrator.
Bensin worked his way up through the ranks. As construction manager, he created the energy efficiency and renewable energy division. He turned to a stronger focus on providing not only affordable energy to the rural communities in the western region but also a cleaner and healthier living environment.
Bensin helped construct and then became manager of Banner Peak Wind Farm. He led the revitalization of the Pilgrim Hot Springs agricultural projects. He joined ACEP in May 2019 after a close 10-year working relationship.
“I am thrilled to join the team as a research engineer to help with collaborative efforts with other state, federal and international partners and supporting the ACEP engineering research team on their projects,” Bensin said of his new position.
