Whitney and Marsik to Present on Sustainable Energy and Education at AFE

Erin Whitney and Tom Marsik will represent ACEP at the Alaska Forum on the Environment, which takes place Feb. 11-15 in Anchorage. The event provides a platform for government agencies, businesses, organizations, tribes and the public to address Alaska's environmental issues.

Whitney and Marsik will deliver presentations on new solar photovoltaic technologies and air source heat pumps, and they’ll chair and participate in a panel addressing sustainable energy education needs for resilient communities.

They will also play a key role in the Arctic Engineering Research Center stakeholder meeting. The vision for this research center is to develop integrated solutions for communities threatened and displaced by climate change. The ultimate goal is to facilitate the creation of communities and economies based on sustainable use of local and renewable resources. The purpose of this event is to update and collect input from stakeholders from a wide variety of backgrounds to help develop a successful funding proposal.
